What a year! The World Series of Golf® is by far the most exciting way to experience poker and golf. And of course, we do it all in Vegas.

As a company, the World Series of Golf is made up of a bunch of great people. Today I’ll talk to Terry Leiweke, President and CEO of WSG. What type of guy is Terry? Name me a President and CEO of a company that invites you over his house for a party the night before an event. That’s the kind of guy all of us here at the World Series of Golf work for. Terry gets it, the format, the players, the event and the business.

I sat down with Terry for a few minutes the other day and asked some questions I thought you might like to hear the answers to.

Joe: Terry, what’s your favorite thing about the World Series of Golf?

Terry: Anyone can play in it!

Joe: What do the players have to look forward to in 2009?

Terry: Once again we’ll be putting together the high-class; high stakes golf events that we are now known for. The ’09 are two events that we’ve put together. We have our amateur event, which will be in its third year. We limited the number of playing positions to 125 for ’09. Spots are filling up very quickly so apply now to hold your spot.

We also have our “High Stakes” event which will payout over $3.5 – $4 million. Check out our website for more info.

Joe: What do you think is so special about next year’s events?

Terry: We’re going to have over $4 million in payouts! $4million! What’s not special about that? And any amateur, who can put up $10,000, can win. We’re giving away 5 spots for the high stakes event for anyone who has a paid playing position in the amateur event. It’s going to be fantastic.

Joe: What else will the World Series of Golf offer in the near future?

Terry: We are developing an online game that will blow you away. We’ve partnered with the World Golf Tour to create an online golf experience like no other. It combines the World Golf Tours photo realistic game technology with the format of the World Series of Golf. It’s a beautiful combination of technology, online game play and the WSG format.
