The World Series of Golf was exactly what I had hoped it would be although with a slightly different outcome than planned. The Pauite Golf courses were amazing (although a little windy) and the Mirage did a terrific job with the accomodations. What I was most pleased about however, was the fact that I had judged the event correctly in that even the higher handicap golfers such as myself had an opportunity to place in the money. The bracket system and format allowed a golfer of any skill level to make the right bet and the right shot at the right time to score big – this was what I had planned on, or counted on happening once I made my way through the brackets and was facing the better golfers. Unfortunately with the chip lead on 15, I followed the rest of my group and went all in, I had the momentum and the advantage with a 6 iron to Allen Cunninghams 3 wood. Allen made a brilliant shot to go along with his all in bet, crushing a 3 wood onto the fringe as my 6 iron ended up in the right rough. I couldn’t get up and down and Allen made par on one of the toughest holes of the golf course to advance through our group and eventually end up in the final round – Congrats Allen!! As heart breaking as it was to lose three times more $$ than I gamble in a year the experience was amazing. I had an amazing time and learned a great deal about what real pressure is and how I react – I will be hitting the driving range and looking forward to next year. Thanks to all for a great experience.

Mike, we thank you. It is the unique individual, like all members of the World Series of Golf family, that make this event so special. Looking forward to next year.
Keep checking back as we’ll have more articles in the future.
