The winner of the 2009 World Series of Golf will win $300,000.00. That’s a lot of money. Enough money to get the blood pumping and raise the level of competition a bit. But we never thought it would come to this:

“In this corner, from Penrose, Colorado, weighing in at One Hundred and enough pounds to par the back nine… KEN “I’LL TELL YOU WHEN I’M READY” TANNER”

“And in this corner, from Mt. Airy, Maryland, weighing in at One Hundred and a shark fin on his back… BILL “THE SHARK” STRAYTON…” 

Bill Strayton and Ken Tanner (not related) came out for the March “Get Acquainted” event this year (in separate cars) with one goal in mind. Play the format and continue to master the intricacies. Bill came out firing at Ken, who while still in his cart, defended his first year finalist spot with grace and style, and a great 7 iron! 

The Competition Heats Up…

Bill followed up and really took it to Ken, but all ended up just fine. They settled their differences just before the had to tee off and had a great time. We don’t encourage scrapping during our event, betting, of course. So I leave you all with one question, “Can’t we all just get along?”
